If you are committed, creative and passionate about gaining practical real-world experience and consider yourself as the perfect test model for television work, whether on-cam or behind-the-scene, and you want to make a lasting difference in the community – the first Filipino television channel in Texas, Pinoy Houston TV, would like to hear from you. Purpose of the PHTV Internship Program.
The PHTV Internship Program offers qualified and eligible students the unique opportunity to acquire direct practical experience in television broadcasting and production under the direct supervision of veterans and experienced PHTV staff and crew. Internships are offered depending on the availability of meaningful assignments and the needs and capacity of PHTV to receive and supervise interns.
Eligibility Requirements
Must have strong computer skills
Must be willing to work long hours
Can operate AV equipment to create sound and visual images
Can perform video and audio editing tasks
Capable of creating audio-visual advertising (commercials and promotional tools) if needed
Can take rough cuts (i.e. raw footage) and polish them into final, on-air promotional materials (may entail adding music, graphics and other sound and light elements as necessary to make the finished product even more compelling)
Can provide graphic impact to videos by using graphics and special effects such as animation
May act as a digital imaging technician and provide on set quality control, image manipulation and color correction, production continuity, troubleshooting and consultation to assist in fulfilling the requirements and vision of the digital production (if any).

PHTV MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST (MMJ)
KVVV 15.3, Pinoy Houston TV (PHTV), Multi-Media Journalist (MMJ) OPENING
The MMJ will be a unique storyteller and contribute to the content gathering of information for KVVV 15.3. PHTV, the station website and social media.
Responsibilities: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Pitch unique stories that will get results and drive ratings
-
Write, edit and produce stories for the PHTV platform
-
Cover breaking news with a sense of urgency
-
Hosting a weekly news video report
-
Working with senior staff to identify trends and story ideas for video products, helping to write scripts and reporting news stories as assigned
-
Working with senior staff to identify opportunities to produce video and audio products for integrated media efforts
-
Developing ideas for and contributing to video and audio content, including podcasts
-
Working for in-house videographer to assist with camera, graphic and editing work as needed
-
Social media posting as directed
-
Periodically contributing written articles and features as needed
-
Developing relationships and building a personal network of industry professionals

Traveling to field assignments, as specified by senior staff

Attending professional events relevant to the company's products and audience

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience required
-
1/2+ years MMJ experience
-
Experience with Final Cut Pro or Adobe Suite Editing Experience required

Ability to shoot using Sony, Canon, iPhone and DSLR cameras
-
Demonstrated ability to deliver compelling and promotable stories

Strong organizational skills
-
Bilingual: English/Tagalog is a plus (not required)

Ability to work in a rapid, fast-paced environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
We are seeking an energetic, passionate storyteller to join our digital news department as an on-air and field video reporter. This is an associate-level editorial position. The primary responsibilities are field reporting of news and features and writing and producing video scripts, news stories and video features for our family of websites that cover the Filipino Diaspora. The successful candidate must have top-notch interviewing skills and be willing to learn about the Filipino Diaspora. This position requires the ability to identify trends and story ideas and to present them in a collaborative environment. This position also requires voiceover and on-air work for marketing videos. The abilities to operate a camera, edit video and audio, and create graphics for use in video are pluses.
